Introduction

7Unit Innovations LLC-FZ and 7Unit Softwares Pvt Ltd (together, 7Unit, we, us) operate this website at www.7unit.tech. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you interact with us through our website, contact or lead forms, scheduling tools, or direct communications.

We aim to align our practices with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 where applicable. By using our website or submitting information, you acknowledge this policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We use it only for the purposes described here and in any separate agreement we sign with clients.

Information we collect

Contact and scheduling

When you book a call, send a brief, or use our contact flows, we may collect:

  • Name and work email address
  • Company name (if provided)
  • Message or project brief
  • Scheduling metadata from our calendar provider (e.g. selected slot, timezone)
  • Affirmative privacy consent recorded at submission (checkbox acknowledgement of this policy)

At each form we show a purpose notice and require affirmative consent before personal data is submitted. That consent is required by our APIs and is not optional for those flows. For accountability, we keep a minimal consent record (timestamp, form or channel source, and that consent was given) without storing the message body in that log.

Meta lead ads

If you submit a lead form through our advertisements on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram), we may receive the fields you provide in that form (for example name, email, company, phone number, and any challenge or interest selections). Transfer is governed by Meta's lead mechanisms and your consent at submission.

Website analytics and advertising measurement

We use Plausible Analytics (privacy-first, lightweight) and, when configured, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and the Meta Pixel to understand traffic, measure journeys, and evaluate our own advertising on www.7unit.tech. Plausible is designed to minimise personal data collection. GA4 is provided by Google and may use cookies or similar technologies as described in Google's documentation. The Meta Pixel is provided by Meta Platforms and uses cookies or similar technologies to collect device and usage information, including when you arrive from our ads. GA4 and the Meta Pixel only load when we configure the relevant identifiers for the site.

Project and engagement data

For active and prospective clients, we may process email correspondence, requirements, meeting notes (with consent where needed), technical materials you share, and billing data under contract.

How we use your information

  • Respond to inquiries — including contact form, async brief, Meta leads, and email.
  • Schedule and host calls — through our calendar integration (e.g. Cal.com).
  • Deliver services — under a written statement of work or contract.
  • Improve the website — using aggregated analytics (Plausible and, when enabled, Google Analytics 4).
  • Measure and improve our advertising — when the Meta Pixel is enabled, to understand whether our campaigns drive visits, leads, and bookings (see Meta Pixel).
  • Legal and security — to comply with law, enforce terms, and protect rights.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for their independent marketing lists. Where we use the Meta Pixel, it is to measure and improve our ownadvertising, under Meta's terms and your platform privacy controls — not to resell your contact details.

India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

Where we process digital personal data in connection with individuals in India, we act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and the applicable Rules. In that context:

  • We process personal data for clear, lawful purposes described in this policy (and any separate notice or contract we provide at the point of collection).
  • Where processing is consent-based — including website enquiry and booking forms, and optional analytics/marketing cookies — you may withdraw consent at any time with ease comparable to giving it — email hello@7unit.tech with the subject line Withdraw Consent, or change optional website cookies via Cookies and tracking / Cookie settings in the site footer.
  • We take reasonable security safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and the harm that could arise from a breach.
  • We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the stated purpose, or as required by law (see Data retention).
  • For cross-border transfers of personal data from India, we follow the transfer restrictions and mechanisms applicable under the Act and Rules in force at the time of transfer.

Optional analytics and marketing technologies on this website load only after you grant the relevant cookie category. That design supports consent-based processing expectations under DPDP where those tools are not strictly necessary to provide the site.

Under DPDP, the legal basis for the following trackers is consent: Plausible Analytics, Google Analytics 4 (loaded via gtag.js from Google Tag Manager / googletagmanager.com), the Meta Pixel, and Google Ads (gtag AW-). None of these scripts load until you Accept all or enable the matching category in Cookie settings. Reject non-essential keeps the site working without them. You can withdraw that consent at any time via Cookie settings or by emailing hello@7unit.tech. See Analytics and advertising trackers.

Operating as a Data Fiduciary in India and want an engineering audit of your own systems? See our DPDP Gap Assessment.

Children and age restriction

Our website, enquiry forms, booking flows, and professional services are directed to adults (18 years of age or older) acting in a business or professional capacity. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children (individuals under 18) through this website, and we do not offer products or services directly to children.

Because this marketing site is not intended for children, we do not operate a verifiable parental-consent flow under DPDP section 9 for website visitors. Contact, booking, and lead forms require an affirmative confirmation that the submitter is 18 or older.

If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us through this website, email hello@7unit.tech with the subject line Child data. We will delete that data promptly where the law requires.

Separately, some client engagements (for example EdTech platforms we engineer) may involve processing of children's data by the clientas Data Fiduciary. That processing is governed by the engagement contract and the client's notices — not by collection of children's personal data on this website.

Data sharing and disclosure

We share data only with processors and partners who help us run the business, under appropriate terms:

  • Hosting and infrastructure — e.g. Vercel for the website and related functions.
  • Scheduling — Cal.com (or linked calendar provider) when you book a call.
  • Transactional email — Resend, to deliver enquiry notifications to hello@7unit.tech (your address may be used as reply-to so we can respond).
  • Lead triage (abuse prevention)— where automated spam scoring is enabled, borderline enquiries may be assessed by Anthropic's API using minimised fields only (email domain, company, message text — not full name or full email). This is solely to detect abusive or automated submissions, not for marketing profiling. Set LEAD_SPAM_AI_ENABLED=false to disable.
  • Optional CRM / webhook — if configured, enquiry payloads may be forwarded to an internal webhook endpoint we control for operational follow-up.
  • Analytics — Plausible (see Plausible privacy policy) and Google (see Google privacy policy) when Google Analytics 4 is enabled and you have granted analytics cookie consent.
  • Meta — for Meta lead ads, WhatsApp Business messaging when you choose to contact us there, and, when enabled with marketing cookie consent, the Meta Pixel on our website (see Meta privacy policy and below).
  • Content systems — Sanity.io for CMS; typically no visitor personal data beyond what editors publish.
  • Email and productivity tools — for operational communication after an enquiry.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of 7Unit, our clients, or others. A successor entity may receive data as part of a merger or acquisition; we will notify you where required.

WhatsApp contact

Our website includes a WhatsApp control that opens a chat with 7Unit on WhatsApp Business (operated by Meta Platforms). Before you leave the site, we show a short notice explaining that the conversation continues on Meta's service.

  • We do not pre-fill your name, email, or other form fields into WhatsApp — only a static greeting template.
  • Anything you type in WhatsApp is processed by Meta under Meta's terms and privacy policy, and by 7Unit as a Data Fiduciary to respond to your enquiry.
  • Optional click analytics (e.g. Plausible event names) fire only if you have granted analytics cookie consent; those events do not include the content of your WhatsApp messages.
  • When you confirm Continue to WhatsApp, we may record a minimal consent acknowledgement (timestamp and channel) for accountability — not the content of any WhatsApp messages.

Prefer not to use WhatsApp? Email hello@7unit.tech or book a call via our contact flow.

Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram)

We may advertise on Meta platforms and use Meta tools in two ways: lead generation forms on those platforms, and the Meta Pixel on this website when configured. Both are described below.

Lead generation ads

When you submit a lead form attached to our Meta ads, Meta processes your submission under their policies. We receive the data you provide for the purpose of responding to your inquiry and assessing fit. Retention for lead data is typically up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner or we enter a client relationship governed by contract.

To exercise rights over Meta-held data, you may also use Meta's privacy controls. For data held by 7Unit from Meta leads, email hello@7unit.tech.

Meta Pixel (website)

When enabled, we place the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Technologies) on www.7unit.tech. It may record page views and certain actions on our site — for example when you complete a lead form, book a discovery call, or submit a project brief — so we can understand whether our advertising is effective and improve campaigns.

The Pixel uses cookies and similar technologies and may collect identifiers such as browser type, device information, pages visited, and referral source (including whether you clicked our ad). Meta may associate this with your Meta account if you are logged in or if Meta can match your browser. Processing is described in Meta's Privacy Policy and Meta's Cookie Policy.

You can limit ad tracking through Meta's Ad preferences, your device advertising settings, or browser controls that block third-party cookies. In the EEA, UK, UAE, and similar regions we ask for your consent before loading the Meta Pixel. Rejecting marketing cookies prevents the Pixel from loading.

We do not receive your Facebook or Instagram password through the Pixel. For questions about data 7Unit processes from forms on our site, email hello@7unit.tech.

International data transfers

We operate from India and the UAE and may serve clients globally. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other mechanisms recognised at the time of transfer. For India DPDP requirements, we assess cross-border transfers where the law applies.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law:

  • General enquiries and non-client leads — typically up to 24 months from last contact.
  • Consent accountability logs (timestamp and source only) — typically aligned with enquiry retention, or longer where needed to demonstrate lawful processing.
  • Client project records — as set out in our engagement agreement and applicable tax or legal rules.
  • Financial records — as required by applicable law (often multi-year retention).

You may request deletion earlier where the law allows; we will respond within a reasonable period (see below).

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

India (DPDP — Data Principal rights)

If you are a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you may request:

  • Access — a summary of personal data we hold about you and the processing activities involved.
  • Correction and erasure — correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, and erasure where retention is no longer necessary for the stated purpose or as otherwise allowed by law.
  • Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent.
  • Grievance redressal — a response to a complaint about our processing.
  • Nomination — in accordance with the Act, nomination of an individual to exercise rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.

Grievance contact: email hello@7unit.tech with the subject line DPDP Grievance. We acknowledge grievances promptly and aim to resolve them within the timelines required under applicable Rules. If you remain dissatisfied, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India as provided under the Act.

California: We do not sell personal information as defined under CCPA/CPRA. You may still request disclosure or deletion as applicable.

To exercise a right, email hello@7unit.tech with the subject line Data Privacy Request. We will confirm receipt and respond within the timelines required by applicable law (typically within 30 days where GDPR-style rights apply; for India DPDP grievances, within the periods set by the Rules then in force).

EEA/UK individuals may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; we encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve the matter.

Cookies and tracking

When you first visit www.7unit.tech, we show a cookie consent banner. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or manage preferences by category. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) so we can remember it on return visits. You can change it at any time using the button below or by clearing site data for this domain.

Necessary: always active — includes storing your consent choice and operating core site features.
Analytics (optional): Plausible Analytics and Google Analytics 4, loaded via gtag.js from Google Tag Manager (googletagmanager.com) — aggregated traffic and journey measurement. Legal basis: consent. Plausible is privacy-oriented and does not use cross-site tracking cookies by default.
Marketing (optional): Meta Pixel and Google Ads (gtag AW-) — help us measure and improve advertising on Meta and Google; use cookies and may involve cross-site tracking as described by those vendors. Legal basis: consent.

Non-essential scripts load only after you grant the relevant category. This approach is intended to meet expectations under GDPR (EU/UK), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (consent for non-essential tracking), UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL), and similar laws. Embedded booking (Cal.com) may set cookies or similar technologies governed by that provider's policy when you interact with the embed, independent of our analytics and marketing categories.

You can also manage browser cookies in your browser settings and limit ad tracking through Meta and Google account or device controls linked in the Meta Pixel section above.

Analytics and advertising trackers

The following third-party trackers may run on this website. Each optional tracker processes personal data only after you give consent through the cookie banner (Accept all, or the named category in Manage preferences). This is the DPDP consent basis for these tools. Necessary storage that remembers your cookie choice is not a tracker and is always on.
