What does a product engineering partner do that a dev agency does not?
A dev agency delivers the features you specify. 7Unit owns the outcome: architecture, delivery and the operational handoff. We write the decision log, surface integration risk before build, and stay on call after launch. You are not managing the engineers.
How much does it cost to build a software platform with 7Unit?
Discovery is a fixed fee with a fixed scope. Build is priced per milestone after discovery, because the architecture decides the cost. We do not quote a platform before the domain is mapped. If your scope is small enough for a no-code tool or a single AI coding session, we say so on the first call.
How long does a build take?
Discovery takes one to two weeks. Builds run in two-week sprints with working software at the end of each. A contained operational system typically reaches production in a few milestones. A multi-tenant regulated platform takes longer, and discovery tells you how much longer before you commit.
Can you take over a half-built or legacy system?
Yes. Platform modernisation is one of the modes inside Build. We map what exists, isolate the risk, and migrate with a rollback-safe plan. This includes configured CRM stacks such as Bitrix24 and PHP-era back offices.
Who owns the code and intellectual property?
You do. Everything delivered under the engagement, source, infrastructure configuration and documentation, is yours. 7Unit retains only its own pre-existing tooling, which is listed in the contract.
Do you work as a fractional CTO?
Yes, for founder-led companies that need architecture governance, vendor evaluation, team structure and investor due-diligence prep. It runs as a retainer, or as equity for early-stage companies where that fits. We own decisions, not just advice.
Which stack do you build with?
React and Next.js on the front, FastAPI, Python or Java Spring Boot behind, PostgreSQL with row-level security, Docker and GitHub Actions on AWS, GCP or Vercel. The WhatsApp Business API is integrated directly with Meta. The stack is chosen per system, not sold as a package.
